What Is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy employs heightened awareness via the hypnogogic state to access the subconscious mind. You enter into natural hypnogogic states frequently throughout the day for instance when driving or reading a book. Hypnotherapy guides your natural ability to do this and enter into a peaceful and relaxed state whilst you remain in control. Hypnotherapists cannot make you do anything against your will – during hypnotherapy, you are always in charge of your own actions.
A hypnogogic state means that you are not asleep or unconscious – you are merely in an altered state of consciousness and will be able to break out of this hypnogogic trance at any time you want.
How Does Hypnotherapy Help?
In the hypnogogic state, you are deeply relaxed. Because your conscious mind is quieted your unconscious mind can focus more deeply on your issue. Because you are calmer you are more receptive to your deeper thoughts and feelings.
